He couldn’t have gotten far.” With that command driving her, she burst through the hospital doors, the sound slamming shut behind her. The night air bit at her skin, sending a shiver down her spine as she scanned the darkness. She moved swiftly, peering into shadows and corners, but the man was nowhere to be found.
