Star Trek is simply one of those timeless and ageless shows. Just ask the 10 million social media followers George, who played Hikaru Sulu, has, proving that technology can be conquered no matter the age! He and his writing partner, Brad Altman had been in a non-publicized relationship for 18 years before they went public in 2005, after which they soon legally tied the knot together in the same year. Star Trek fans were incredibly supportive of Takei when he came out of the closet.
